In a city where he feels he doesn’t fit in, Bill searches elsewhere for a place he belongs. Finding an abandoned cryopod, by chance, Bill hurls himself into the far future. Here, he finds an unfamiliar world where the people are gone. Instead there are thousands of robots, breaking down as they wait to serve masters who may never return.
Bill finds companionship in AMBI, an “Advice-o-tron”, who, with multiple PhDs and no real-world experience, always thinks his plans are best, and B08, a giant robot who doesn’t seem to know his own size, being cautious and shy despite his strength. However, not everyone finds hope in Bill’s arrival. The Cyber Chief has kept order in solitude for countless years, growing wary of the strange and unfamiliar, Both are qualities he finds true in Bill.
